Happy May: Unhinged to Aligned

Happy May: Unhinged to Aligned

Happy May!

Wow, it's been so long since I've written a blog. I used to come on here all the time to share my thoughts, connect...hopefully inspire. Somewhere along the way, writing blog posts became less and less about expression and connection and just another to do list item. I miss just writing for fun, not caring who is reading, just expressing my thoughts and experiences just in case even one person could relate.

The last few months have been a bit of a whirlwind...not in a bad way, in a "you are doing more than you usually do and now struggling to find balance but you're having fun along the way" kind of way. I spend so much of my time being disciplined, almost regimented, because it keeps me grounded. Wake up at a certain time, having a solid morning routine, reading before bed, getting to bed early, journaling, meditating, moving my body but the last few months I have been spending so much time with friends making memories that I've almost abandoned all of those things that keep me grounded. Its exactly why I keep telling my friends that I'm feeling..."unhinged".

I really can't think of how else to describe it. I just feel like I have been off track but I've low key been enjoying it until I haven't. The last few weeks I've realised just how important my routines and habits are. When I do them my mind feels at ease, I feel more motivated, I get better rest, I feel...aligned.

So that's the goal for May. To feel more ALIGNED. Going back to all the habits and routines that make me feel grounded and being consistent with them for the month so that I can reap all the benefits.

If you are feeling stressed, overwhelmed or a little "unhinged" try my May habits with me:

1. Minimum of 30 minutes of "Me Time" daily.

2. Move body daily.

3. 6-8 glasses of water daily.

4. Meditate every week day at a minimum.

5. 8 hours of sleep per night.

6. No scrolling on the phone before bed.

7. Choose one book to read over the course of the month.

8. Eat/drink at least 1 raw food per day.

9. Minimum 1 solo date with myself this month.

10. Find 1 friend to date this month.

I've realised that I truly love having routines and habits. Balance for me is finding the sweet spot in my routines and my time with friends. It's time to get back on track!

Happy May, Fam.
